| While I'm always in support of people watching it on Crunchyroll (as they should), I think no matter what happens with the series, FUNimation is done with it. They will not dub any more episodes.
If another company picks it up, like Discotek... maybe? But even then I think they'd lean more towards a subbed release first. (They aren't known for really dubbing much of anything)
It's not just as simple as getting more people to watch it on Crunchyroll... I wish it were that simple, and most the people on these forums probably already do that. Detective Conan is just not big in North America (as sad as that is), and it really doesn't get a lot of traffic on that site. Also since Crunchyroll region locks to North America, not everyone can watch it on that site without a VPN of sorts, so they end up resorting to other anime streaming sites that rip directly from Crunchyroll or Horriblesubs.
Detective Conan is most popular in Asia, so since there isn't a huge means of watching the series there (legally with English subtitles/dubs) most people resort to illegal methods. I'm not sure if there is much that can be done to help popularize it in the states. Hopefully SCC's panels do some good, and it'll be popular on Netflix and Crunchyroll as time goes on.
We can also support Discotek in showing that there is an interest in the series, so I recommend purchasing the Lupin vs Detective Conan crossovers for those who haven't...
The main problem now is that there is still no legal method to watch Episodes 124-747. That's a massive amount of content. Crunchy only has 754+ (but the fact that we get the latest episodes is amazing, and only one week behind Japan), Netflix has 748-799, and FUNimation has the first 123. This isn't friendly to newcomers, so once they finish with FUNi, they watch the rest of the series illegally, and usually don't go back to legal means once they are available. There is also the point that FUNimation's website isn't as accessible as going to the most popular anime streaming sites, and it's also rather inconvenient to use, so people probably just watch the first 123 episodes illegally anyways.
Even if a company were to dub/sub these episodes, they'd be so late. I'm not sure it's really worthwhile or a smart business decision to do it. I think what Crunchyroll does now is amazing, and unless they decide to go in the backlog, this might be all we ever get.

I have been talking with Crunchyroll about That and they said that if people started to watch case closed on their services and bring up the views they get for it that they may add it to be dubbed that's what Crunchyroll said to me.

| They might get the dub Funimation did, but outside of that they won't do their own in house dub. They just don't do that. | |

Yep. Crunchyroll subs anime, but I don't think they've ever dubbed anything? It would be pretty cool if they obtained what FUNi has (dubbed or subbed) just to provide a starting point for newcomers. Perhaps Netflix could do this as well... But it's not so much of a wait and see thing... Crunchy won't dub it. Now Discotek? That's a bigger possibility, but still unlikely and mostly wishful thinking. They subbed the latest Lupin vs DC movies so there's the possibility they might acquire the license in the future (but I still profess it has much more to do with them fancying the Lupin series and not much to do with DC). To my knowledge, I think they have dubbed some anime, but if they do it's pretty rare. As much as people don't want to hear it... I don't think Detective Conan will get dubbed again, as in new content. I think it's finished.

| It doesn't have to be a dub to be considered popular in the U.S. What Crunchyroll does now, has saved the series in many ways and put it back on TV's in a form. As long as fans are gaining more and more legal means to watch it, then a lot of new fans can be added. I personally feel like a dub will happen again, but it might be many years and it has to be a deal where the licence is cheap to acquire. | |

| No dispute there. Crunchyroll has did fans all over the world (not just the U.S, even though it initially region locked to NA) a huge favor. Before we were relying on illegal fan-subs just to keep up with the series, and now we get them a week behind Japan. This is probably the best thing, legally speaking, that has happened with the series, ever. Unfortunately, it still doesn't get much traffic, not as much as it should imo. It's definitely not a popular series on Crunchy.
The big problem I see still is that Netflix and Crunchy, two very popular outlets that have the series, don't have a way for newcomers to really get invested in it. People are so turned off by even giving it a chance since it starts at 748 or 754. They won't even begin to watch it. I'd like to see what would happen if they obtained what FUNi has. I think that could be a huge help, especially for Netflix.
I'm still not sure about a dub though. We're basically relying on another company to pick it up, and it's such a massive series, but anything is possible. I really think FUNi should at the very least dub some movies here and there. With the increasing popularity of the series, it couldn't hurt, but alas, they seem rather "hostile" at the mere suggestion of dubbing Case Closed.

| Would be interesting to see if Discotek plans to wait till Funi's contract expires and then releases the dub. Maybe to see if subbing season 6 would be something they would profit from. | |

| I wonder if another company would do things in a similar vein as FUNimation if they were to dub it.
That of course concerns localization/name changes, but I wonder if they'd split episodes up like FUNi did. I really hope they'd fix the latter though. That still bugs me that specials were split up into 4 separate episodes, and of course that limited the amount of episodes on each season set. Not to mention it screwed up the proper episode listing...
Unrelated bit, but if Gosho ever decides to finish Magic Kaito and it gets an anime adaptation with a proper conclusion, I feel it could probably warrant a dub. That could also help popularize Conan to some extent.
