Who wants to join?

We should have a harlem shake/gangnam style type of video to thank our supporters and to draw more people to the page but the only problem is i need a few people from the community to join in so who's with me? it's for a good cause javascript:emoticonp('')

Im pretty sure that would not work. Unless your talking about animated harlem shake.

Because im pretty sure everyone on the forum are worldwide users, people would need to fly somewhere just to do a video. XD


But what i would suggest is open an official www.savecaseclosed.com site as a celebration.

Maybe putting together a kick butt youtube video would help arouse awareness. Just a thought if it hasn't been done already.

Honestly, they should have gotten a domain name like that quite a while ago. However, they would still need to find a host and I am not sure if Renzo's host allows unlimited sites.

As for the users, it would be easy with a Google+ hangout. Time is the main problem. Also, with multiple English dubs of Detective Conan, not just FUNimation's, and the fact that I do not see anybody coming to this forum from outside the US.

Actually at first i thought instead of the traditional harlem shake video we could go with the one man harlem shake which solves our problem of not being in the same area as for a video that could raise awareness most of my ideas are not possible now because funimation will simply remove it which was a best of case closed video

Not sure what I would put up for a best of, but episodes 5, 6, and 13 (Japanese count on all) would make the worst of for me.

Domain names are not that expensive, depending on where you get them from. Mine costs $40/2 years. However, ".com" addresses are certainly among the most expensive.

To be honest i doubt we're going to get someone to pay for that with all the stuff we're asking people to buy now

Well I know. People don't like that we don't have a .com or .net well then they can pay for it. I sure as hell am not doing that.

Nor would I, because I have other payments to make, such as one that is $99/year for a developer program, monthly fee to Netflix, and a monthly fee for email on my domain name. However, it would be much easier to move and remember than using free hosts or free DNS (my server has gone down because a DNS provider kept deleting the record from ther system).

Probably should, but defining that is kind of hard. Mine would probably be news of either episodes 124+ coming to DVD and/or iTunes or Detective Conan getting on FUNimation's simulcast schedule.

Yes and no to that question. I actually have a hosting package that gives me unlimited email and domains, so long as it is within their limits. The thing that makes it yes though is that I am only using it for email, as I have a server of my own.

Actually paying for email is the better way to go so you don't have to worry about scanning, etc. of your emails both incoming and outgoing. Free services like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail/Live, etc. actually scan and record the email whether you want them too or not. Zero privacy even if they don't sell you address, they may sell the context of the content.

I dont ever do anything through email that would make me worried.
The only thing that would, would be if i had an email come that was a password reset link inside.

Another tactic they use is to steal the HDD directly from the server. It amazes me how people believe that the person working for the company can do no wrong. Vudu had their HDD jacked from their servers right from under their noses. It was lucky that they kept the sensitive data IE passwords, CC information off site. The thieves got user data and nothing more. However what's to stop someone else from doing the same thing. Yahoo mail is constantly getting hacked, they just don't inform the public when it happens. I use gmail but honestly, I pay for my email service and use the "Free" ones as nothing more than spam depots. Anyway, sorry I digress as this should be a discussion thread about Case Closed and not internet theft.

Of course, back ups will make it less of a pain. In the case of places like Vudu, user data would still have gotten out, but restoring would be quicker than doing it from scratch. People need to take basic computer security classes. Then again the point you brought up was stressed a lot when I was studying for the degree I have now.

I doubt anybody really cares that we went off topic, which was originally about doing a video celebrating the little bit of success for we want to happen. I might have, if I were in control on the board.
