| What do you guys think about episodes 176-178? This is the episode where Haibara reverts to her original body.
I have to wonder though if this is what gave Haibara the idea to add the alcoholic beverage utilized in the antidote in the Desperate Revival Arc, which I have to believe.

| These are some of my favorites, mostly because of how dramatic things turn, especially when it looked Like Gin and Vodka were gonna finish off Haibara. | |

Yeah, the episodes you mention were intense. However, I do not remember those episodes as well as I remember its manga counterpart. As for the topic, this case was probably the first one I saw that mentioned alcohol and smoking being able to start fires, though it looks like Yugi Mutou was the first to put somebody in a situation where their smoking would kill them, due to the fact that alcohol was there too, since that came out in 1997 and the manga countpart of this had to come out later, because the volume containing this case came out in 2000 and the previous volume was released in 1999 (all years are for Japanese release dates). I still want to believe that this case had some importance to the series, but not as important as episodes 5 and 13 (Japanese count on both). - SaveCaseClosed wrote:

Man, I really wish we could do multi-quotes here. The encounter between Haibara and Gin and Vodka really did make me think she was done for to me.

I have to wonder though if this is what gave Haibara the idea to add the alcoholic beverage utilized in the antidote in the Desperate Revival Arc, which I have to believe. Though it's a couple years late, I'll relay some very quick thoughts. 176-178 is probably my favorite case throughout the entire series. I'd say only the Desperate Revival Arc or 345 can come close to it... Even the remaster is particularly good, though the pacing was hurt a little bit from the scenes that were cut, in contrast to some of the other remasters that were adapted to fit a 1 hour time-slot. What to really say about it? Great soundtrack, interactions, pacing, and cast of characters. While "Paikaru (Baijiu)" is part of it, Haibara copied some important data from the APTX4869 data when she was locked in the wine room. She does still have the disc, just that she has lied to Conan about it (for whatever reason). We still don't know exactly what is on it. Some people have even suggested that she has developed a permanent antidote and is just hiding it from Conan.
